I know this is going got sound a bit wierd. but I just spent a heap of L on a product that is SUPPOSED to make a high prim count item, 1 prim. but it doesn't work. my land count is still counting the prims as the whole and not as one. Should I post the scrip here? or does someone know how eric linden did it with his items. I have a huge tree that says 1 prim, but looking at it, you can see there is WAY more than one prim to it. but the scrip is unseeable.
I love my tree, but would like to do the same thing with the fountain I am building.

Yeah I know what you're talking about those are some linden made trees that somehow only count as 1 prim and only they have that special power to make I guess. Only other solution for you is to use temp on rez IF the item is copy. If not then once it disappears it is gone forever.

Those trees are made with a program called Speed tree. You can also see this type of trees if you play Elderscrolls 4 Oblivion.

The license for each type of tree is ungodly and in the thousands....that why people arent running out buying this program and making new trees.

if you purchased a bunch of prim trees you might purchase a temp rezzer and set the trees up in that as it will rezz a temp object to only count as one prim on your land. But some people whine about temp rezzers..like everything else here.

was it that 5,000 dollar beta deal thing that takes multiable prims in SL, sends the data to the server, then send you a scuplted prim texture?

What would really help is to know whether the script is trying to temp-rez the prims, or if it's doing that groovy external-server prims-to-sculpt-texture trick. If the former, then it can be a bit tricky to read the parcel primcounts. The temp-rezzed prims are still counted as being on the parcel, but they don't decrease the number of prims still available. So that might be worth checking.

(Aside, and FWIW, I think the fear of temp-on-rez is a little over-general. For example, if one temp-rezzes only stationary, phantom, unscripted prims, my experience is that after the first such rezzing, the lag impact is negligible even for quite high primcounts. Your mileage may vary--but then, that's kinda the point.)

it's a temp rez. You're supposed to add a certain scrip to an item, pack it into a box with the other 3 scrips, drag the box to the ground and touch it to rez the item. The item springs up, and is "supposed to" count as one prim. but it doesn't. So, I either got suckered, or there is a glitch in the system LOL and I'm out 2000

I followed the instructions exactly. IDK. I can keep trying. i've been noticing glitched with a few scrips lately. it seems like one minute they work fine, and the next "poof"
