Just curious if there was a way to have the root prim of a linked set rotate without rotating all of it's children?

If nobody else comes up with a better suggestion, I believe the following kludge is how I've done something similar:
- script in root prim will have to obtain permission PERMISSION_CHANGE_LINKS - obtain a UUID of one of the non-root prims with llGetLinkKey() - unlink the root prim with llBreakLink() - do your rotation of the unlinked root prim - relink as a root prim again with llCreateLink( __, TRUE )

Sucks that this isn't easier, doesn't it?
I'd suggest considering whether you can relink the link set so that the prim in question is not the root prim.
