I've been through the Scripting Wiki and I can find a method to determine the key of the owner of a prim, but can't seem to find a method for discovering the name or key of the agent that clicks on a prim.
I think I'm either missing something, blind or both.
Any suggestions?

Just to make sure I'm on the right path, I would use llDetectedKey inside of touch_start to get the key of the agent that touched the prim?

You use the touch_start event to determine when someone has clicked the object. If you want to determine who clicked the object, use llDetectedName() or llDetectedKey() in the touch_start event to figure out who the clicker was.
