In today's line of strange but true questions, I have another one. Is it possible to send a prim from one sim into another? I know that using warppos for an avatar to cross sims is a nono. however, can I generate a prim in one sim, say an island, and transmit it to another island or mainland in the world? Thanks.

Reading just the title I clicked on the thread to say yes you can. Just make a prim physical and have it move with apply impulse. But that is not what is asked in the body of your post. For it to move from and island to the mainland would mean it would have to teleport itself. You can't do that. You could make it appear that an object was teleporting by having it enter an object on the island that de-molecularizes it (it actually just dies) and then another object could recieve an email and rezz a copy on the mainland????

Yeah, I dont quite think your idea will work for my situation, though it is a good idea.
Im developing an attachment that rezzes a temp object and then kills it. however, on places that are no-build, the attachment doesn't work. So I was thinking, what if I had a "broadcast tower" that could generate the prims and send them out to where they're needed, thus not needing to rez them on the no-rez land.

Thanks. Unless things have changed significantly recently that is precisely how the intersim TP's work. There are caveat's and limitations but it does work. The problem would be precision and distance hops. The current incarnation of warppos limits to about 2000m I think.

An object could not cross from an island to the mainland the same as an avatar could not fly between them.

Why not simply respect the land owner's decision to not allow foreign objects on their land? (Edited to add I'm asking because it seems you want to bypass the no-build restriction, by rezzing the prim outside the no-build land and then traverse the parcel border into no-build. If I read that wrong then sorry )

It is correct to say that objects cannot be teleported procedurally. Imagine how impossible it would be to construct a grey goo fence against objects that could teleport. =(
