What is a 'bump' script?

Hi,

NOOB beyond BELIEF( so that puts you in the picture )

I was messing with my freebie log cabin on my tiny snow rd side and canal side plot of land ( L$2499 benham shameless plug )

And UNDER my house...as I moved it was a 'bump' looked like a rugby or as your yankie doodle dandies call them ' soccer ball '

I looked at the contents and one was 'machine script' cant recall the other.

It was glowing green inside.

Made by 'snoopy' designs & scripting blah blah blah ( or something like that )

Is this some kind of spy script on my land?

I have the land set for no scripts and yet the player had some how bypass that and hidden this 'thing' under my house


I cant think why any-one would do that not like I am a MAJOR player in the real estate biz but the place I found it and the person who owned it and his 'scripting' experience in his profile kinda made me edgy

Plus an image of Snoopy ( as in snooping about?) Am I being paranoid?

My guess is that it is an errant game ball of some sort. Probably had physics on it and got loose, rolled down into your canal. Don't worry, since you have disabled scripts on your land, the script is not running. Just return it or delete it.

There is a "Snoopy" listening device that is sold in game and on SLExchange. From your description that might be what you found. If you deleted it, that was the best course of action.

A "Bump" is basically like a bullet shot from a gun (example: a watermelon gun). it's left over basically form someone errantly shooting it, but it is not a spy device of any sort.

Most listening devices do not have no error correction. You could script an object that would spam who ever is listening. Or depending on how it's scripted it may be possible to even create a feed back loop.

You could delete it, but then they might just put a spy object next to your land. Where you can't disable it or sweep it. Or they'll just do it again. The best corse of action is to confront the person who is spying, and report them. Other wise they'll just do it again ether to you or another person.

To elaborate on this, scripted objects can exist on your land, but the script within those objects cannot run in a no-scripts zone.

Dont always take this for granted however. There are a few known workarounds.

Thats morally WRONG! I have some VERY private and personal convos all over that game but hell, if you cant even talk privatly on your OWN land..thats no less a crime than bugging your phones!

Its a spy box and it reports back everything you say to its owner. To check who owns a prim just right click it and go to edit, usually its listed in the properties window if it happens again to track down your stalker, lol.

Most spy scripts will return all message to their owners. So if you get a bot that spills out a bunch of text. You can some times over flow their buffer, or at least make it a pain to read.
