{thinking aloud while SL is down}

Suppose I'm in a plane that is scripted to take damage on collisions or on being shot with specially-scripted munitions, I'd need the following (and nothing more) to make it explode:

llUnsit(Hapless pilot av);
llBreakAllLinks(the damaged plane model);
(maybe some silly particle explosion effects, & other eye&ear candy)

right?

Any way around the dialog confirmation required with BreakAllLinks?

You could make the plane unsit, go alpha, start the particles, then rez a few peices of shrapnel flyin in odd directions :D . Hope that helps, cause i dont think there is a way around the dialog, but then again i havent tried it for quite some time. Good Luck!

Good idea-- the plane is already equipped to go alpha via the cloaking logic installed. Thanks for the idea, Cid!

Rezzing shrapnel is definitely better than unlinking everything. Physics gets very confused when physical objects intersect. Besides, shrapnel could have scorch marks and such.

Nps, I ran into the same thing when I made a plane like that. *shakes fist at dialog window* :p

Here's another fun one. I had a 180 prim house in my inventory. I was bored to tears one day and wrote a script that turned a prim physical on voice command. I put this script into every prim of the house (yes very tedious, but hey i was bored).

Then I had a house demolishing party! lol what fun to watch that big old bastard come toppling down (whacking a few of my unsuspecting guests too lol).

Granted it wasnt linked so I didnt mess with the dialog, but i thought i'd share lol :cool:

PS Clean up was quite the pain lol

You shoulda added another command to make the prims llDie when desired, too. That makes cleanup a breeze! :D

LMAO!!! I own a sim, no neighbors :P Maybe i could start a prim junkyard though, like so many American farms have all those old dead tractors out back. A little slice of Americana with me at all times :D

Well you cant do that unless u script some more "themed" objects, such as a working tv on top of a non working tv. :p And a sign saying "welcome to Backwoods Sim Population 8... Relatives" :p
