Ok i am making a camper which has a rotating board in which the camper would sit. When i link everything together the entire object rotates. what i want is for just the one peice to rotate and the rest remain stationary. I am still new to scripting but would appreciate and clues on how i can resolve this issue.
Thanks Gus

Don't make it the root prim! e.i. the rotating prim must not be the last prim you select before linkung

Yeah you're kind of stuck then - see, there's no hierarchy in the linking of prims in SL (and for this purpose you need to consider the camping avatar as just another linked prim) so one of two things happen: - the root rotates, and takes everything with it - a child (not root) prim rotates, and everything else keeps following the root, i.e., stands still Maybe a 2-part build, not linked together? Bummer I know. Or maybe a rotating animation instead of a static pose?

Yeah that is what ill most likely have to do. I have gotten the camp script to work in conjunction with the object and the object spins correctly now. but the avatar only takes the pose and doesnt spin with the object. so i guess i will create a spinning animation for the avi. thanks guys.

Itsa bit tricky. But you need to isloate the prims to rotate and the pose balls to sit. Just make them their own unique object. Rotation will spin the whole whatever you make, as long as it'slinked. And some animations will work with physics, some will leave the user sitting there when the object flies of. Just experiment with different animations and poses.
