I don't know if this tool exist (I don't know where to search for it)
for example : I have one main shop and 2 little shops in some malls There is a landmark giver in the 2 little shops
I'd like to know when I do a sale (in my main shop) where this customer come from
I thought to give a different landmark (not the same name) but is it possible to detect it when someone use it ?
the same for the keywords in the classifieds, is it possible to know what was the keyword typed by the customer ?
is it possible to give "like a cookie" to an avatar ? by example this cookie record the first referer (shop 1 or shop 2) and after if this customer back in 2 weeks, I know he came from the shop 1
is exist a "script shop" with a lot of scripts helping shop owners ?

For the first, you could log the visitor that you give a LM to. Then when someone makes a purchase you can check the log to find out where he got the LM.

I have a script that I could adapt to do what you want. IM me in-world and I'll see what I can sort out for you next time I'm online. Cheers.

LM Giver with email
07-05-2007 08:26
My LM giver sends me an email with the name of the person and where it was taken. That gives me an idea of how many people are actually interested enough from that shop to take the LM.
Then, you could match against sales, if you wanted to. I only measure how many LMs get taken as a judgment on the value of that store. If you want the script that does this, let me know.

Tracking TP to someone else's site
06-24-2008 06:42
G'day
A year after this thread was started, I wonder if there is a resolution to a similar but slightly more complex problem.
Rather than owning the 'final' shop where a purchase is made, someone else does. Is there any way of tracking to see which avatars I have sent to that shop, in addition tracking those who have subsequently made a purchase, and of what amount they spent?

I don't know if you're using scripted vendors or not, but if you are, why not just add emailing to it. When a sale is made, an email is sent, sending the customer name, what they bought, the price paid, and what region/location the purchase was made. That's what I do. http://www.secondscripter.com

How about a little dialog survey that pops up when someone makes a purchase:
-------- Thanks for buying our products! Please indicate how you first heard of our wonderful shop:
1.) Classifieds 2.) Shop A 3.) Swamy Billboard 4.) Friend --------
