Hi,

Does the key of an agent always remain the same? So that if I hardcode the value in a script, it will remain specific to that agent?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, for an avatar.

(No, for objects, which seem to get a new UUID for each rez.)

Objects which remain rezzed should keep the same key for as long as they are rezzed. However, in recent times, that old axiom is not always true, but it is mostly true.

Oh, and I seem to recall something about attachments and crossing sim-borders.

Sim-crossings seem to (always?) act like a de-rez and then re-rez, correct?

I've not worked with non-attached, autonomously moving objects. If one crosses a sim-border (can it?), would it also act like a de-rez, re-rez?

Not any more Ged.

Nowadays, if things are working properly, the rezzing (whether to attach or rez in world) only happens when you actual rez them, crossing sims, tps etc. don't rerez any more.

Logging off and logging in does however, and given the fun with teleporting some days that could be an issue.

The joy of LSL :) It's like chasing down an always-moving target. Part of the fun, I suppose.
