What breaks a teleport?

Sometimes when I try to tp, I get a "teleport is currently blocked" message, which I'm sure we've all gotten. And yet, often I can teleport later just fine.

I was wondering if certain scripts or script anomalies could cause this to happen to a single avatar without happening to the rest? In other words, could a script be written to cause a teleport attempt to fail?

i usually get this error when i'm lagging very badly, or am experiencing large amounts of packet loss, a relog usually solves the problem. In my observations, when one person at one point gets a teleport blocked error, everyone around that timeframe does as well, so I believe it's a sim level problem, therefore no way to single yourself out to not teleport out.

on a side note, though I can think of no reason why you would want to recreate this problem except cheating in damage enabled sims by not getting teleported home when your health runs out.

On a side note, the fact that you can't think of an application doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one.

care to demonstrate one? i'd love to hear another use, as teleporting is entirely voluntary, and you can cancel any teleport at any time by pressing cancel except when you die?

My teleporter still sometimes "breaks" in the sense that it vanishes as I teleport using it, and it simply doesn't return until I clear the cache. But after I switched from a nontextured cone to a cylinder with a texture on it, it reappears more often. (Coming soon to my vendor... end of stupid plug.)
