Hi, I have an animation override script but I am trying to make my own walking/sitting/etc. script that replaces the normal animations with better looking ones (since the way people walk in sl it looks like they have a limp) I have tried to make one but I don't know if there is or isn't a way to replace the animation for sitting. All of the rest of the commands (fly, walk, etc.) are working and allow me to replace their animations, but the sitting one I am not sure what to put in. I've tried adding in this: else if ((current_anim_state == "Sitting" || current_anim_state == "Striding" ) { llStopAnimation("run" ; llStopAnimation("stride" ; llStartAnimation("sit01" ; but it doesnt work. does anyone know how to do this, or if you have a overide script for sitting could you send it to me? Also I have no idea where to find a good looped walking animation. Are there any out there that look normal? I am looking for some preferably cheap and copyable or transferable walking animations.. I have one already but it looks slanted when you walk, and it doesnt look normal. If anyone can help with this i'd appreciate it. I suck at scripting so if theres anyone out there who could maybe even help create the bracelets for me (i am trying to make them for models for a fashion show) I would really really be happy and i'm willing to pay. Thanks

if you're sitting you're not running, i dunno what that's there for. try getting rid of the striding/running stuff and sticking in llStopAnimation("sit" unless you want to look like you're sitting down while you're running. so basically......... else if (current_anim_state == "Sitting" { llStopAnimation("sit" ; llStartAnimation("sit01" ; // your animation } also i have a pretty good walking animation that doesn't lean over. it's extra extra sexy though but i'll look and see if it's copyable for ya. you might talk to the poser crowd too. it has a thing in it that lets you crank out walking animations pretty easily.

I wrote a GPLed animation overrider that's floating around. I haven't officially released them, but they seem to be circulating like wildfire.
I'll post it to the library or something when it's done. It's actually 100% working, but it needs documentation which Gwynneth and Ulrika are working on.
If you send either of them an IM, I'm sure they'll be glad to give you a copy. Or just roam around. It seems like a lot of people are using them now.
As for good walking animations, Gwinivere and Ferran both have good ones. Cross-post on the animations forum for a more complete list. But, as far as I know, those are the only two who're really making AO anims.

thankies Francis, I have been using your script for animation over-ride, not sure how people got it but I found it being given away for free in a store and figured it would help in making a better walking posture. I've been having a few problems though, but I think it might just be SL. I cant seem to turn the script on b/c of an error..Well I'll post in the animations forum and see if there are any good walking animations out there that I could use. Tys

Could I get a copy of this script
I won't be in-world much over the next few days - I'm in the middle of moving, and I'm going to have to give my SL computer back to the folks who lent it to me. So I'm cut off until my new computer shows up Anyways, if you'd like a copy of the script, I think Torley advertises she's willing to hand them out to anyone who asks. I haven't the foggiest clue who likes distributing them these days. Alternatively, you can go to the sandbox, and shout "CAN I HAVE AN ANIMATION OVERRIDER" and someone will probably hand one to you. That's what I did with an alt when I forgot to give myself a copy of my own script. 1.5 is the latest version, anything after 0.3 is probably fine. I'm told SL 1.6 adds a harmless (but irritating) error message to the AO. I will release the Franimation Overrider to the Wiki/Script Library after SL1.6 is opened up.

Diabolical i've never seen that with a Wet Ikon but you should be able to get rid of it by going to the script and cutting or commenting any line with llSetText() on it. that's the hard way but there might be something in the manual it comes with about that.

The red settext came from an early version of my animation overrider. It was basically a tool to help me debug it. I thought I took it out a long time ago, maybe version 0.6? I think the command to turn on/off the debug output was "/ao dshow" and "/ao dhide". Sorry I can't get in-world these days (my Internet isn't good enough to get in-world) to check for sure

/me puts on her scripting nerd hat. In response to Zuzi's post, simply removing all the llSetText calls in the script won't remove the red hovertext. Hovertext is actually a property of a prim; llSetText simply attaches text to the prim containing the script. Once set, hovertext doesn't go away unless you make another call to llSetText to "blank" the text out. If you really want to eliminate the text completely, first remove all the calls to llSetText in the script, then add a new call to llSetText to the script's on_rez event, similar to this: default { on_rez(integer start_param) { llSetText("", <0, 0, 0>, 0.0); } } Of course, the simple solution here is to find a newer copy of Francis' animation overrider at one of the locations already mentioned in this thread. /me removes the nerd hat.
