Me being the smart aleck that I am, I was wondering if any of you wonderfully smart scriptwriters out there can make a script that will give out an item when its owner is rated. Lets say a vendor that has a few items for sale at $75L each and you want to buy an item. You get a $25L discount each time the owner of the vendor is rated positivily. If the owner gets all three positive ratings, the person rating gets a free item. Three negatives will cost $75L to the person rating and gets nada. Is this possible?

If it's possible, I doubt it's directly accessible as to who did said rating.
Furthermore, on a purely conceptual standpoint, I'm not sure I approve of this degree of automated "rate bribing." I used to deal with websites that did this with "Vote for this site!" on select listings pages. Believe me, I got fed up with it after a while. Ratings, by comparison, should not be the plaything of "rate my vendor and get free stuff," either - but that's my personal opinion. _____________________

Moral questions aside, I just wanted to know if ratings could be gamed this way or not. Didn't ask for the script or to make it, just wanted to know if it could be done.
Besides, it's not like the ratings are going to mean anything in the near future. Since LL released the formula for high score, I suspect its going to be scrapped real soon. Just a mental excersise to get LL thinking more than anything. |

Fair enough. I'm more than happy to let this one rest at, "No, it cannot be done that I know of on a functioning LSL level."

Can be done, but you will end up with people negging it for the sake of proving a point.
llRequestAgentData() has an option for ratings. _____________________

Can be done, but you will end up with people negging it for the sake of proving a point. llRequestAgentData() has an option for ratings. Yes, but the problem is calibrating who is doing the rating as well. Since llRequestAgentData is a global parameter, if you had more than one "rating bot" vendor, the numbers would conflict. However, it's relevant to post that anyone could put up a sign saying "Rate this vendor positively and get a free object." You wouldn't need a script at the backend for that to work on social engineering alone. ![]() _____________________
