I know nothing of scripting. I will put that out first.
Here's the deal, I am trying ot figure out how to make a fully functional Firemans pole that is 20 meters tall.. the script I need is the action of sliding up and down the pole.
Please Help me if you have any ideas. Thank you

At an overview you need: 1. An animation of holding the pole. 2. Use the standard Pose ball/sit scripts to have the player sit on the pole and play the animation. 3. When the avatar sits upon the pole, they will become the last object in the Linked object hierarchy. 4. Within a timer, use SetLinkedPrimitiveParams to alter the location of the avatar until they reach the ground. 5. Use llUnsit to remove them from the pole.

Even easier than using that trick on the avatar, make an invisible child prim which has the sittarget and the animation script in it, and have it move and rotate itself down the pole and unsit the avatar at the bottom.
