Getting name of last notecard dropped in inventory

Hi. I am trying to get the name of the last notecard dropped in an object's inventory. It seems that notecard numbers are alphabetical and not according to the order they were dropped. Is there a better way to get the last notecard's name than by comparing lists of notecard names and seeing which one is new?

Sorry, you're going to need to keep a list of "previously seen" inventory items, and compare against the list whenever you detect a changed_inventory.
