Alright, I need HELP!
I installed an array of Cubey Terra (Mk IV) teleporters. Star Topography. the base has 4 destinations, at the ends of those trips, the pads only take you back to base.
Problem is, the mk4 is failing on the sim it's installed on. Several times now, the beam simply won't kick you off, and can sit there for up to a minute after you "geddup" off it. Personally I could live with it, if it were just for a personal install. But it was for a friend's skypads over her club. (think "get a room".. so the possibility of noob traffic on these means is kind of high.
I did some searching for commercial systems, but aside from the AubreTEC one (which is actually too gimmicky for our needs) I can't find anything that looks super reliable.
Distances are over 600m, but all in the same sim.
Can anyone suggest a commercial teleporter? or maybe toss out some script they have tried exstensively and find reliable?

I've used a newgy-modified version of the Mk IV quiet a bit without too many problems. I pushed all of the user interaction back up into the pad rather than the beam. Only thing I'd suggest is cutting out all the non essential 'star trek' stuff out of the beam. Have you used the warppos mod we talked about before or is it the non mod version?

I messed around getting teleporters to work at a friend's house for quite a while over a period of time. In the end I went out and bought the Aubretec one, it works and is easy to set up, the gimmicks are well hiden if you don't have to use them.

teleporters and vehicles are a bit outside my "comfort zone".. I'm good with the logic of if's, and doing basic stuff with the code (like a perl/cgi script) but when it turns into movements and scanners and such, I start getting nervous. And WarpPos, etc... way out of my element.
I used the "Virgin install" of the CT Mk4. unmodified in any way. The beams would come down to the pad, and occassionally just sit there, with you on it.. waiting for something. I assume it was an internal division error or something, and the magnitude of the difference between llGetPos vs llSetPos was not exact, and the script didn't know how close was close enough. Unfortunately, such a thing is not noob friendly, since it leave the pad above "beamless" until the taxi prim finally gets around to deleteing or returning, or whatever it does.
So, in a nutshell, I'm looking for something simple.. 2-day old noob simple. Something I can set to "sit on left click" and have a menu pop up and then they click the destination and go.
So, there's good mods out there? care to point me at them?
(help me solve this, and I might ACTUALLY put my stargate ring teleporter effect to use!)

I have one I found here (this forum) I think. You click it and it pops up a blue list that has destination buttons on it. Click the required destination, it is then shown in hovertext over the pad. Sit on the pad to teleport. It's only 1-prim, the destinations are stored inside the script, and it's fast (instant?). I'm not in-world at the moment, but will try to remember to send you mine tonight. If you want to IM me in-world, it would help jog my memory
