"When you teleport, your attachments are derezzed and re-rezzed at the new location. This means that they will all receive new keys (see llGetKey) and that emailing scripts in attachments is therefore a bit tricky. (this does not apply to sittarget teleports)" (Source: http://rpgstats.com/wiki/index.php?title=LlGetNextEmail) I remember reading discussion of this recently somewhere, but can't quite remember the conclusion, and can't remember where I tripped across the discussion. My question: is the above statement still true? (I know rpgstats are no longer being updated, and the "official" wiki is barren of all discussion on this or llGetKey() topics)

Oh yeah, duh. sorry fried brain. But honestly, I'd rather have had no answer than a pissy one proving how much fresher your brain is :} In any event, I will be gracious and thank you for your testing. I did not mean to be lazy, and I don't think anyone who knows me would think that for a second. I think my mind was so focussed actually on troubleshooting a current in-world email problem, and on tripping once again into the ongoing minefield of these mirror wikis that are out of date and actually starting to get harmful for learners, etc, and how it was too bad that an "agreed upon" wiki couldn't be agreed upon 'cause it would benefit so many people, etc, etc. From: Daten Thielt i dont honestly see why people cant just test this themselfs -.-, jsut tested it in under 2 minuits, No they do not change key when you tp anywhere

i dident mean to sound pissy or make it seem like a personal attack. there are alot of people on the forums that ask questions that could be solved in under a minuet. so sorry if it seemed that way

This was actually changed over a year ago so that attachments keep their keys on teleport. That allows people to attach an in-world server, teleport or cross regions, then DROP (NOT detach!) it back in-world and it will retain its key. The object WILL get a new key if it is detached and then rezzed (and/or re-attached) or if you log out and log back in again (so there is some risk of your client or the sim crashing while you are moving an in-world server as described above).

Yep. JEVN server user here, so know the routine. In fact, I should have connected the dots and not have needed to pose the question to begin with. But just shows you how out of date rpgstats is getting, which is too bad, as on many things, it seemed to have the most user-friendly information :{ From: Hewee Zetkin This was actually changed over a year ago so that attachments keep their keys on teleport. instead of griping how "out of date" rpgstats is getting you could help with the effort of bringing the desired information that is missing from the official wiki to the official wiki.

Squirrel, fair enough. I'm actually not reluctant at all to pitch in and do work. Some may be aware of all the other LSL-related projects I've already volunteered on, so I won't list them all here. If you'd like, I can drop my SL CV on you in-world documenting my activities to date. You may have missed this posting some time ago: /54/04/162496/4.html#post1932250Also see here: /54/04/162496/4.html#post2023513I see there's been more activity in that thread in June. Looks like a consensus has been reached, if only by wearing the nay-sayers down, that if anyone is going to post material to a wiki, it should be the one hosted by LSL. From: Squirrel Wood instead of griping how "out of date" rpgstats is getting you could help with the effort of bringing the desired information that is missing from the official wiki to the official wiki.
