This is standard behavior, and always has been.
The wiki page on llVolumeDetect() goes into some detail on this. - Ace _____________________

In fact, llVolumeDetect was ALWAYS disabled for the root prims of attachments, someone just managed to figure out that the Lindens had forgotten to disable it for child prims as well. _____________________

In fact, llVolumeDetect was ALWAYS disabled for the root prims of attachments, someone just managed to figure out that the Lindens had forgotten to disable it for child prims as well. I honestly don't know what difference it makes if it was a feature or a bug. There are many features that are a lot more annoying than this bug was. And there are a lot of other bugs that are a lot more annoying than this bug. _____________________
