Listening and the deleted prim

I wanted to know what would happen if you had a script inside a prim that is listening on a channel but the prim then gets deleted, what happens to the listening event? Is it closed or does it persist in the sim?

When an object is deleted all the scripts contained within it are also deleted so all pending events for that item should also be deleted.
