Single prim rotation?

When I attempt to attach a prim containing a rotation script to other prims, the original prim either begins to rotate on a different axis than intended, or causes some of the other prims to rotate as well. Can someone tell me the instructions to include in the script to prevent this from happening? Thank you in advance.

You can't use llTargetOmega on just one prim in a linked set (as far as I know).

Your options as far as I can see are to use a rotating texture if possible - which is far by the best and easiest idea - or make a timer script that uses llSetLocalRot or llSetPrimitiveParams to gradually move the object, which is laggy.

Haven't tried it, but the wiki reckons you can as long as it's not the root prim.

Hmm. I'm sure I've tried rotating just a child prim, and it didn't work, and being told by other people that it wouldn't. Mind you that was a long time ago, I might not have done it properly. In which case, ignore me completely.

Just tested it and it totally works, just make sure any part you want to rotate isn't the root prim.
