I am trying to build a photoviewer in SL. Images are stored on a server and URL referenceable. My script uses the following code:
fullurl = $basephotourl + "image/" + (string)currentimage +"/image/"; llParcelMediaCommandList( [PARCEL_MEDIA_COMMAND_URL, fullurl ] );
Super simple it would seem. However, sometimes this works and sometimes it does not. Sometimes, I'll log back in and my media will be blank even if I turn it off/on.
I should say the url provided re-directs to the actual /image.jpg file url on the web site hosting the images.
I'm not new to LSL scripting, but fairly new to the media features. Any help appreciated.

Does About Land/Media show the change even if the viewer doesn't seem to pick it up?

Yes it does show up in the About Land/Media, but not on the prim.

Does hitting the viewers Stop then Start buttons on the lower right make it work?
Either way, it sounds like a viewer bug - if it's showing up in About Land, I don't think there's much more you can do.

Thanks Sindy. No hitting stop/start on lower right dialog does not help. Sadly, I agree it must be a viewer bug, I was hoping not. I'm running the release candidate so I'll try backing off to latest known good and see what I get.

FWIW, I needed to update my version of QuickTime. The only reason I tried is because I've been in SL so long. This dependency should be long gone.

meh... i've been unhappy with their reliance of QT ever since they decided that the solution to an exploit that allowed QT to take someones money and inject packets into their client stream should be fixed by forcing QT updates (instead of , oh I dunno, Fixing The Actual Vuneralibility!?!?)... hence I miss out on all those fun media features when I'm on my main account, because I refuse to use it.
