I wrote a blog post last week how you can teleport around using realXtend viewer:

You can reuse llMapDestination and use rex:// url scheme.

It is not possible to transfer avatar or inventory (except by hand importing/exporting avatar shape: http://www.cybertechnews.org/?p=932)
