Does anyone know where I can get a script that will ghost my avatar so people can't push/shoot me? I'm so sick of being run over by vehicles and etc etc.

Try the thread on Phantom Avatars.

You do know that most guns and so on use PushObject? Whilst there are conceivably guns that fire rounds that have to collide before they push, its equally possible to make guns that will push someone even without a collision. Phantom wont protect you against the latter, although you might be safe for a week or two.

Actually, being phantom also will not protect you from phantom pushbullets. At least, as far as my testing went, someone could shoot me with llVolumeDetect pushbullets, and despite my being phantom, I still was pushed around. Poop. :(

Thanks for the replies. That phantom flying script makes travelling much easier. I've seen people who are active - they are actually there talking and standing but when you try to walk into them you walk right through them. When you're a phantom you can't land on the ground so I'm puzzled as to how they did this.

For push bullets and griefing, you could try this
/15/f1/25172/1.html

I haven't tried it, but it combines a lot of cool things.

llVolumeDetect in a child prim (attached to your avatar). It's a bug, so you should expect it to be fixed (i.e. stop working) at any time.

This sort of reminds me of the old old elephant jokes...

First: How do you kill a blue elephant? Obviously it's a "Blue Elephant gun"

Second: How do you kill a red elephant? No, I'm sorry, there is no such thing as a "Red Elephant gun", so you hold it's nose till it turns blue, THEN shoot it with the "Blue Elephant gun"!!

I still have not explored enough to get deep enough into the fighting/PVP of SL. I guess I'll have to experiment with the phantom-ness mentioned above so I can understand some of this. At the moment, it's alot like the Farside cartoon where the owner is telling her dog Ginger something, and all the dog hears is "Bla bla bla bla bla bla, Ginger!"

So all I can say at this point is:

Woof!

Yeah, that's exactly what I did but I can't land on the ground and stand with the script on.

They may be using some sort of animation overrider or something along those lines... I'm not certain. I always end up doing the flailing phantom dance when I try to walk on the ground like that. :)
