llSetSitText() in linked objects - is this meant to work?

Hi,

I've used llSetSitText(string text) successfully on some prims, however I've found when I've linked a few prims together (each with their own llSetSitText()) the Pie Menu hasn't been changed as it should.

Is there something special to note about this command with linked objects?

Tks

Although you can have a sit target for each prim in a linkset you can only sit on the linkset, not individual prims in it - this is why you're seeing the same sit text whichever part of the object you click on.

The separate sit targets are used in the order the prims have been linked together, as described in the wiki entry.

Thanks - I'm guessing that the sit text displayed would probably be what was set in the root prim then? (that would explain what I was seeing)

Still seems worth going through this trouble so I can use inter-prim comms using LINK messages, as opposed to having to go to chat.

I believe that's correct.

Usually is, yes. Dealing with where you want people to sit if you want anything more than "fill up seats in this order" can be a bit of a hassle though.

Is "animation" permission per-script or per-prim? If it's per-script I can see all kinds of possibilities to reduce prim use for couches and bench seats.

I think it's per prim, I'm sure I've got things with separate scripts to animate the avatar that only ask for permissions once. Never checked myself though.

All script permissions (as opposed to asset permissions) are per script, not per prim or object.
