Script to change clothing?

HI, this might be a silly question. Has anyone ever seen a script that allows OTHER AVATARS to change your clothing. What I'm looking for is something that will make you wear a differnt shirt when somebody else clicks you for example. Has anyone seen anything similar, without using prim clothing?

Look into the Restrained Life Viewer, or something compatible like the Cool SL Viewer. These support some scripting extensions (really, owner chat intercepted by these viewers) that will let clothing folders be added or removed under script control.

Plain LSL and the regular SL viewer don't support this.

The Second Life API doesn't allow for this, which is why you haven't seen it. For the subset of people using the Restrained Life Viewer[1], there is an API[2] which allows for limited manipulation of clothing. However this is limited to seeing which clothing slots are used, removing clothing and putting on clothing stored in the avatar's #RLV folder (which they must have put there in advance).

Thanks , but I'm looking to sell this item. Unless it works on the regular viewer, it wouldn't really be what I need. Thanks anyway.

Plenty of people sell RLV items.=p But yeah, it does limit your market a bit.

As Winter Seale suggests, there's certainly a market for RLV-compatible items. I don't know, but I would have thought that anyone who wanted to let other people change his shirt for him would probably be using the RLV anyway, if he'd heard of it. And, if he wasn't using it but but was prepared to pay good money for a shirt-changing device, presumably he'd not be too bothered about downloading a free viewer to make his purchase work.

Certainly several of my friends have told me they really like some of the RLV things I -- or other people if I let them -- can do with my collar (it's really handy to be able to tp myself to stored locations just with a chat command, for example) but are, quite understandably, put off by the idea of wearing a collar rather than of having to turn on the RLV option in the Cool Viewer, which several of them already use for its other features.

In any event, should the OP change his mind and decide to enter this market, there's an example of how to change someone's shirt by script at /54/2b/282634/1.html#post2153309.

More generally, I've found the scripts in the free, open-source OpenCollar, available at http://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=879159, provide very full and useful examples of how to script the various RLV functions.

Winter I know a lot of escorts and dancers use rlv for the jobs and there are a few tip jars out there that work off the rlv viwer. If I was use I would make your items for rlv ready. Seems more and more people are useing 3rd party viwers over slviwer.
