Yes, because if you use it over the alotted limit, the address blackholes.  Edit: To clarify, I'm referring to actual message retrieval; Adam is referring to the llGetNextEmail call itself.

The sim wont let a single prim call it more than once every 1.5 seconds; if you do, any requests during that 1.5 second period will be ignored.
