The answer to this is almost certainly "no," or someone would be selling scripts that do it, but is there any way to get an attachment to warn you or ask your permission before it's detached by something else you're trying to attach? I know there are scripts available that will tell you when you have taken off your scripted collar or whatever by accident, but I wonder if it's possible to get warned before it happens?
I know that you can have the viewer warn you when any attachment is about to be detached by something else wanting to attach to the same spot, but most of the time I want to replace one pair of prim shoes or a skirt or my hair with another, without going to the bother of detaching the one before attaching the other. However, there are some items -- my scripted slave collar in particular -- I don't want to remove by accident.
Any conceivable way to get warned before rather than after the event, does anyone think?

nope, you've covered the spectrum of what's available there.
in fact you can't even determine if an item was actually detacted, or merely replaced.

You could switch to the restrained life viewer, and add a script to your collar telling the viewer the collar can not be removed. If I remember right, there is another viewer as well which incorporates the restrained life code so you have a couple options on that.
