Hi All; Just wanted to take a second and introduce you to my new creation, the WakaTech Tube-O-Rama. The Tube-O-Rama allows you to select a YouTube URL, then load it into the Tube-O-Rama. After a short delay while the video processes, the video you selected will display within SL! The product is in beta testing right now, and I'd love feedback from fellow scripters and builders, particularly around the UI. I eventually hope to publish this as an API so others can incorporate it into their video players and screens. You can find it at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Star%20Gazers/199/16/23 so please give it a shot and let me know what you think either in-thread or via IM! Thanks!

I came and am trying it ATM. First thing I noticed, you were charging money for it, which to me isn't really that big of a deal, but to some residents it would be just to play a song that they could pop open IE and see for free. It takes a couple of minutes to load up. I'd guess it took close to 5 minutes, which is again, not cool when you figure you can pop open IE and watch anything on You Tube immediately. The video that I loaded was not playing well at all. It would jsut stall out and I'd have to restart it. This could just be me, but when I played a video that someone had left up, it didn't do that at all. I like the idea of youtube videos available in SL and even through the load times and all, when I saw the video I didn't pay for it looked and worked pretty good.

Sae: Of course you could see it for free in IE, but imagine you want to say, host a video dance party. You can't go 'ok everyone, click this URL next!'. There is a delay because of processing but you counter that by processing one while you watch another. There's a fee because this eats real world server resources for storage and downloads. And at 10L I don't think it will seriously hurt anyone.
Odd about the playback issue, you may want to try back to yours because both would have served from the same streaming server.

I do think it's a cool idea, count me in if it goes over in some way!
