I must be missing something here. I've made an object (X) that listens on a certain channel, only to owner and owner's objects. It filters everything perfectly until it has to listen to other objects rezed by it (Y). When I set up a listener that tells the name of the owner of the talking object X said that Y's owner is "" (nuffin). Any ideas?

is it owner "nobody"?

Or just blank ""? Owner "nobody" can actually mean, according to a Linden, owner "multiple."
Wierd, huh?
Since rezzzed objects arent "created" assets, but just copies of assets previously created, what are the stats on the object as it sits in the inventory of the rezzing object? The stats shouldnt change when the object is rezzed, afaik.
Does the objects stats really show owner "" or is that just what the rezzing objects script is reporting?
On another hand, if you're not absolutely set on listening to the rezzed object by name, you can avoid the issue and just have the listening object listen on a specific channel.

Sorry to bother you all, the problem was totally something else. The rezed object llDied after it talked, and because the listening script lags, until it got a llGetOwner() request, the rezed object would already be dead, dead keys have no owners. Duh.
