Object-Object communication methods

I have 2-4 objects that need to talk to eachother. I know about llListen and maybe llEmail (or something). Which would be more efficient for multiple objects to keep in touch? Is there a preferred method? These objects would probably stay within 30m of eachother.

if they are within 30m then use llShout which has a range of ~100m
llsay is 20m and llWhisper is 10m
Email is unlimited but slower
