Revert to Region Default

I'm currently working on a themed sim which should be viewed at Midnight rather than any other time of the day, but don't know if it's possible or not to set the region default to Midnight (is that an island-only feature?), or... I was wondering if it's possible to create a script which could force it to Midnight and keep it there, resetting to Midnight before it got to Sunrise.

Or if anybody knows of any other alternatives, aside from a notecard popping up when people zone in that kindly asks them to Force Sun to Midnight, I'd be very appreciative of any suggestions.

On the other hand, this kinda reminds me of the old websites that demanded that you install a certain font in order to view their site. Like the old school of thought that says that your website should communicate effectively even if the browser has images disabled, or is using a custom font... I think a sim builder should seriously consider that their visitors may very likely NOT use "force midnight" for a variety of reasons.. and in fact they may use "Force Noon" because they have an older dark monitor, or perhaps their computer is in a room with a great deal of light pollution.

There are ways to "fake" darkness.. using dark textures, and prims with "stars" outside the windows. Might be worth looking into.

That said.. if you insist on it. I'd suggest just putting up a big sign at your teleport point. a notecard giver will annoy repeat visitors.

FYI, I just changed a regions default sun to midnight as a constant by going to World>Region/Estate>Terrain tab, unchecked the Use Estate Sun box and checked the Fixed sun box and moved the slider to midnight and shazam,,, it's midnight in the entire sim.

This is an Island sim/Private estate, I have no knowledge if the same capabilities are available on Mainland sims/regions. I don't see why not, but hey, I just live here and rarely visit mainland sims.
