I am creating a HUD and am having trouble positioning it. When I position the HUD in the top center position, it seems to put the center of the HUD at the top of the screen but I want the top of the HUD to be positioned at the top of the screen, is there a way to do this?

How did you positon the HUD on your screen? If you just selected the attaching point, you could move it in the editing mode whike attaching. But this has nothing to do with scripting tips...  If you'd like to move it by llSetPos, just move it by hand and get the position vector by llGetLocalPos.
