I been trying to find out how to get a avatar name ("John Smith";) to key?

I tried searching and browsing the wiki and forums, but it's so hard to know what to search for :) I can only find how to get key to name, but not other way around :|

Let me just post my intentions of the script aswell:

I want to e-mail a script that is on a object rezed in world (my-object-key@lsl.secondlife.com). I want to then instant message a person (with only a string mentioning his/her name). Mabye this helps to find alternative ways? :)

There is no LSL function for it, but you can use This , though be careful with it. You shuoldn't use this to spam people, LL will ban you for it.

Thanks, the intention of this is to make myself a script that i can email someone in SL while i am not able to get online in SL but can only send/recive e-mails, for example at work. I been looking for a method to get in touch with people, without them messaging me first and then the IM seesion key gets in my email, so i want a way to request that they contact me back so i can continue the conversation in a IM session via e-mails (not via the script) :)

You don't. At least, not with LSL.

However, there ARE several name2key databases out there that people have compiled. The one I use myself is http://www.ulrikasheim.org/tools/name2key.html
