So I went and filled out the form, and I now have an email that looks like this:
The email is from '"Linden Lab" <newsletter@secondlife.com>', but the sending domain was outbound.verticalresponse.com. Basically, I don't trust it. It looks to me like maybe you folks have outsourced the sending of this newsletter, which confuses me a bit... and I don't feel comfortable "opting in" without some kind of confirmation that this is, in fact, you, and not some sneaky marketing ploy by a third party. |

Send a Pm to lauren about it. She has posted this message at more places, and changes are that see isn't looking at every thread for response.
