Can llSetStatus be used to set a rezzed prim temporary?

ahh while I'm at it can PING_PONG be adjusted? as in can the lenth of the ping and pong be regulated ....

Not llSetStatus() but something like

llSetPrimitiveParams([PRIM_TEMP_ON_REZ, TRUE]);

does the trick, called inside the rezzed object, on_rez. (Assuming script permission on the parcel... and that the parcel has a real prim to spare for the initial rez.)

And, yes, texture animation PING_PONG can specify the start and stop "frames" (or, if not frame-by-frame animation, then the amount of the texture being smooth scrolled).
