Does anyone know where I can find a script that gives a notecard to a person when they enter a parcel of land?

According to this page on the Wiki http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=parcel you can't detect when someone is over a parcel directly.
However, through a combination of sensors or collision detection, you could fudge it to detect someone within a specific area to get their key, and then use the llOverMyLand call if the parcel in question is your land. Then you just use the llGiveInventory call to send them the notecard. |

Sorry Mystic, but you are about the n^nth person to ask this question, and I took out a little frustration on you. Your post initially read to me as 'someone give me a free script'. IMHO, Scripting Tips <> Free Scripts. Why the mods won't make an FAQ on this forum is beyond me.
But, I re-read, and perhaps you're not looking for a free script. If you aren't, then don't search the Scripting Tips Forum for the keyword 'greeting' because you will find at least one example of a greeting script as recent as a week ago. There are dozens of places in world that offer welcoming objects which give notecards; my favorite place is Yadni's Junkyard and Ivory Tower (though I hear things are changing there). A few parting tips: 1. If you just need to greet av's that tp in, consider using collision instead of sensor and put your object on the tp coordinates. 2. A greeting script that detects and gives a notecard for group property takes work because to make llOverMyLand to work on group land the object must be group-deeded; and group-deeded objects cannot give out notecards (or send IMs). 3. Watch out for bugs/features in the llSensor commands, as well as issues with llOverMyLand on sim borders. _____________________

Thank you! No - I wasn't looking for a handout, I just didn't know where to look at all!
