Maximum Notecard size

What is the max size of a notecard in sl? Can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Welcome to SL/LSL, where there ARE no definitive answers. Heh. I seem to recall it being something like 4k characters, but that might as well be a wild guess. Why don't you start copy/pasting text and post what you come up with?

I have a Mayan calendar that hands out a notecard with information about the calender on touch, and I just copied/pasted into a text doc and checked the size. It's 42,120 bytes long. That's the file size, not the 'size on disk' which is what's allocated, which is 45,056, so, that's way over 4k, more like 41.1k.

...Ok, I just copied and pasted the whole thing again in the notecard, and got the 'bump sound out of the client, so I saved the notecard, then copied the contents and pasted into a text document, and saved it. Seems the magic number is 65,810 bytes, or 64.2k, just a tad over 64k (274 bytes more than 64k). So, to be on the safe side, keep them at 64k or less. If you need more space, you can always have more than 1 notecard.
