A group to which I belong has recently been running into this situation -- certain people (almost without exception very new) who have been banned from the group's land like to swing by late at night and fill the land with prims. Sometimes it's fireworks, other times it's just random junk. Apparently, banned individuals can still rez objects on land from which they're banned. Setting auto-return isn't a good solution in this case since the land is intended to be open to anyone who behaves themselves, group member or not, and some of them like to bring their own objects or poseballs to the community building. So, in view of the rise in the number of new freebie accounts and the commensurate increase in prim-griefers like this, I was thinking of a way to write a script that would automatically keep an eye on the land and return all prims belonging to individuals named in an accompanying config notecard in the scanner. My concerns are these: 1) Scanners tend to lag things, especially if the timer frequency is too low - would a 60-second scan be too frequent? ; 2) Objects should be returned to their owner rather than deleted, to teach a valuable lesson in inventory sorting; 3) Script should not affect any prims that lie outside of the currently owned (group) land. Any input on how this could be easily done would be appreciated - including offers to write it and test it.

Can a script return an object? I'm not very up-to-date with what's been added recently to help parcel/sim owners.

Well, that's disappointing to say the least. A script function for returning or deleting prims on land you own would be a nice adjunct to the group-land features. I was hoping to add a way to find both the prims AND their owner and, after returning the trash, push the owner to Timbuktu. I'll take the ARs if it means there's a little encouragement for them to go away and leave us alone.
Back to the drawing board.

I have a script that can help you find these objects, but other then that only GUI tools can return or delete objects (unless you can insert a script in the target objects). ==Chris

how about a script that simply scans land and finds owners of land and qty of stuff left, then after set time if still on land (hr, day whatever) send an im for each object, so if they left 100 prims of junk, send them 100 ims saying an object of urs has been found at... i wouldnt leave stuff if i got that many ims...

im not a linden, and i dont know for sure, but i wouldnt think this would be griefing since ur reminding them "nicely" about their lost objects, inca se they want them back before u delete them... hehe

IMs are capped. A griefer wouldn't care, as he's off in a new account by then.
