I'd love to set up a race in secondlife... with 10 markers the racing avatars have to pass through, first to touch them all wins...

The only thing is, I have little idea on where to start! Has anybody out there attempted something similar?

Any tips or pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

A simple prototype shouldn't be too hard. The beacons would record who passes through them, or touhes them, and send that info (maybe with a timestamp) to a master score keeper. The score keeper would decide who wins.

it could be trickier if the racers are required to go thru the beacons in some particular order.

It will also be trickier if the beacons are in different regions/sims, but not impossible.

Lastly, there is always the ordering problem. In SL, just because message A is sent before message B, it is not guaranteed taht they will arrive in that order.

This sounds like fun...
