Object to object particle problems.

I figured out how to get one object to fire particles at another object, by putting the key of the targeted object's UUID in the particle script. Pretty straightforward, made sense to me, but as it turns out if I re-rezzed the emitter and the target prim again, the keys changed, leaving the script to point it's particles at a non-existant ID.

So here's my devious scheme:
Target prim says it's key on a hidden channel, using llGetKey, of course.

Emitter particle script HEARS the key, and sets that key as the target.

My question is, how the hell do I do this?

I'm not a complete newbie to scripting, but most of it is still too daunting for me, so be gentle ^^;

None of my scripter friends understood how to take a string from the listen or linkmessage function and return it to the global variable to be used as the target... so yeah. :)

I award myself the I-D 10 T award today, i totally figured it out with enough staring and it was one of those answers that's so obvious it hurts :)

If anyone wants help doing this kinda thing, feel free to IM me, i'm pretty easy going and helpful :3
