Boat Script Commission Quote

Hello scripting geniuses. (Genii?)

Apologies if this is a terrible faux pas, but I was jus' wondrin'.

I sell 'stuff' based around a set theme. But I'm not here to advertise that.

What I would like to be able to do is sell lots of things I can make the models and textures for but I don't really have the time or aptitude to learn how to script.

For example, I would like to sell a particular type of boat to go with my range. I could make the boat itself, but not the gubbins that would enable someone to drive it around on water.

Now then. Is there such a thing as commissioning a scripter to make your object do that kind of thing? Sort of a one-off payment for full rights so I can sell the boats with impunity thereafter? How much would something like that cost?

I've got a fairly simple boat script that I'm using as a base for more complicated efforts. There's others available; you could likely get one free & clear if you want to do some searching. Otherwise, IM me.

To answer the more general question (although there are a number of freely available boat scripts) there are a number of scripters that will do commission work. Prices, and skills, vary a lot - for example although I'm a reasonably competent scripter I wouldn't take a commission on a boat script because I'm not confident of my vehicle scripting skills - you might find someone willing to do it free and high quality, you might find you pay quite a lot for it because giving away a full perms script obviously gives you full rights over it and some scripters are wary about doing that.

In general I'd be wary about paying up front, even as much as 50% - but I'd expect the purchaser to be willing to interact with the script whilst still under my control (or under yours but NT) for proof of the script and pay once they're happy the script works but before it's handed over.
