Report prim usage

Hi,

I rent apartments with prim limits. I have to go to my properties often to ensure that guests do not go over their prim limits. Most of my guests are very good - they stay well within the limits. Other guests go way beyond their allocation and are surprised when I contact them about it if I have not checked in a couple of days.

I'd like to write a script that gives me a listing that's similar to the Objects listing in the Land tool (a listing of names followed by the number of prims for each person in a group).

I was reading through the wiki and found this:
http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=land

That entry in the wiki is disappointing since it makes it hard to enforce prim limits.

I want to create an object that scans my land once or twice each day and sends me a report via email or IM. That will at least give me some insight into prim usage and help me determine if someone is going over their limits. Obviously, the possibility exists for the script to notify the offender and take other actions should that be necessary.

Can anyone suggest possible approaches?

Thanks,

quoth the wiki:

Q: Is there a way to determine how many objects are on a given parcel of land, or better yet, who owns them?
A: Unfortunately, no. Sensors are only able to detect up to 16 objects per scan. There's currently no way to get a list of all the prims, or even a number.

If sensors won't do the trick, the only other thing I can think of involves forcing your clients to somehow register their objects with you... ie, you provide them some code snipped that they have to install in each of their objects that emails you with the object ID and the number of prims...

Ugly, and probably not a good idea to boot... :P

There's no way to script a count of the prims in a parcel using either sensors or land tools.

All you can do is give each rental its own parcel, and constrain them by the parcel limits.
