I have no-copy items. I put them into a prim and give them to someone by llGiveInventory. I tried it by myself and found it ask you whether you would accept or not. If they were copyable items, there would be no problem. I found the item be lost completely when you chose "No", that is, to decline the offer. This is so risky. Can anyone plz tell me how to prevent choosing "No"? Or even though someone chose "No", is there any way not to lose them?
Thank you.

Two less than helpful workarounds come to mind. The first is a Borsch Belt era vaudville quip: Patient: Doctor, it hurts when I do this. Doctor: Don't do that!
or from the film War Games: Joshua: A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess? This is probably similar to the "object I created 5 minutes ago which says it is owned by me on my land is no longer editable by me" problem. There is no known solution as Second Life is being slowly transformed into a chat room, only more blingy and way more resource intensive. I don't think that is Linden Lab's actual intention, but the best-laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft agley.

I don't know a way to stop the "No", Seagel, but if it helps any, I sent in a bug report about this not too long ago and would recommend you do too... I don't like it 'cuz I can't fish in my trash for the declined stuff like I could if I said no to an inventory give from someone else.

I feel your pain, but must ask: do recently annointed Lindens actually get responses to their bug reports, or do they just get an auto-responder ticket number and then summarily ignored like the rest of us proles?

Hehe it's that "feel your pain" line again. It really depends on the bug report! Even when I wasn't a Linden, I'd occasionally get a reply back asking for more details (because I'm not the best technical describer but I'm getting better), particularly during Previews, but no, I usually don't get a reply back directly. I do catch up on updates for forthcoming fixes tho.

It's not even a bug Objects declined will end up in the givee's trash directory.

Are you sure the item is lost completely? Check your trash folder when you decline the inventory offer. This is what happens to no-copy objects when one person sends them to another, and the recipient declines. Perhaps not ideal, but at least the item doesn't disappear into the void!

I actually get the odd answer to my bug reports. It's always nice to hear that my efforts are appreciated.

I have this horrible record of not reading my email. Drives the techs up the wall.

I cleard my trash and tried that again. I made sure that the item was lost completely. And I noticed my minor mistake. The appearing buttons are "Keep" and "Discard", not "Yes" and "No". Sorry for that.

I sent a bug report like below.
Steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Prepare no-copy object. 2. Put it into a giver object's inventory. 3. Write script to give it to anyone by usiing llGiveInventory. 4. Choose "Discard" when you are about to be given.
Observed results: The item would be lost completely. I couldn't find it even in my trash.
Expected results: The item should remain in the giver object's inventory.
