Rotate to camera perspective...? *befuddled*

I'm not even sure what to call this, so let's see if I can describe it and go from there.

The effect I'm trying to create is one wherein it would appear you have a sphere within a sphere. Picture a snowglobe, I guess. A snowglobe has a transparent globe - but that's not what I want. I know that from a build standpoint, it would be a hollowed out and textured half-sphere with a sold sphere inside. I've seen objects constructed this way, but the effect is one where no matter what direction you're facing the sphere, the pathcut is I guess "rotating" with you. Top, bottom, sideways - doesn't matter, you're always looking into the pathcut and seeing what is inside.

I either would like to find an existing script that creates this effect, or script it from scratch - but since I don't seem to know the technical terms of what I'm trying to create, I can't quite figure out which functions would need to be part of the script. Every time I think I've got it (like from the rotations functions), I realize I'm still not looking at the right one.

Any idea a) what to call this or b) what functions are involved or c) where to find the existing script since I've seen it used by multiple objects in-world? This is for personal, not resale use, btw - so I don't object to buying a no-mod/no-transfer version of the script if that's what it takes. Would prefer copyable though, since I do want to use this for about 6 creations for my home.

Thanks for any help you can provide. :)

Those objects don't actually turn, they are really uncut and take advantage of an unusual rendering feature. If the inside of the globe is less transparent than the outside, you will be able to see the inside texture/color. If the outside is totally transparent, you will see that moving shell illusion. If you place other objects inside that globe, they will look normal but framed by that bubble.

Also for similar rendering oddities that were recently asked about.

Well don't I feel like a doofus. *laughing hard* It would figure that I would have to COMPLETELY over-complicate the process!!! Thanks so much for setting me straight... it works perfectly. Now I'm going to go bang my head against the wall for wasting so many hours on this. LOL

Thank you!!!!

Those are always my favorite tricks, the ones with really simple secrets that are mystifying in spite of the simplicity =) Sorry that the bit of missing information caused you a lot of work, though :/
