Am I the only one doing this? Has anyone run into any significant reliability problems with this?

Some of my newer objects have a lot of preferences which configure via the dialog and I store by setting the prim params on a "preference prim". I am wondering how 'stable' this storage is.

Ok and setObjectDesc / setObjectName as well .. it now occurs to me that I can use this as well.

Does LL randomly change these values when sims get reset or you fly between sims, etc etc?

Stable is not a word that goes well with LSL.

You can be pretty sure that LL WILL (at the most inconvenient time) change anything they like (withouth telling in advance ofcourse).

some things are stable and some aren't. Primitive params once set are generaly stable as long as they are valid. There are some values for prim shapes that are going to generate prims the sim will not like and the sim will delete it, a prim that will be invisible, or a prim that will have a bad bounding box (or worst case it will create a prim that will crash the sim).

But once it is set it's stable.
