If you forgot the Temporary parameter and lose a physical object at maximum altitude, where does it end up. Does it float forever at the top of the universe and at what altitude would I find it? Does the prim count against my land somewhere underneath? Is the moon cluttered with lost trash? Does it keep going up and eventually go off-world after a week or two and return to Lost and Found?

LOL Not a really a script question but it was too funny... It reminded me the last time I forgot the temporary flag. Tiny balls had been returned to me from neighboring sims for 2 weeks.

Anyway... Since Havok 4 or maybe a later server update, any unattached prim that tries to go above 4095 m and a few decimals is automatically returned to your lost&found folder.

If your object hasn't been returned yet, that's only because it is stuck at the border with a neighboring no-entry parcel, set to non-physical. In this case, yes, it is counted against your parcel prim count... or maybe some neighbor's one if your land is not directly surrounded by some other no-entry parcels.

If not, just fly up to 4096m, to a place where you can see all your land... and fall. You should retrieve your object... eventually.

obScript: Or else, you can script an object scanner to do the job for you.

Oh boy, it could be floating around anywhere for weeks. It had a feedback arrangement where the vertical force was a function of altitude. I was experimenting to see how well it would stabilize at an altitude but I suspect I got a dismal point in the wrong place.

Maybe using a beacon for scripted objects would help.

Or box select all the objects you can see (Tools -> Select Only My Objects) and check if the prim count in the edit window matches the count in the About Land dialog for the parcel (presuming you have permission to check the object count on the parcel).

Hmm. It has a degree of random movement and access to a Linden Highway so after bouncing off forbidden territories it could be many sims away by now since it never got returned to Lost and Found. It is very small piece of paper with handwriting on it and floating around at a more or less fixed altitude where it will never be seen by accident.

I already have a Super Snooper device which has been unable to detect it on my land at reasonable altitudes. Hopefully someday, somewhere it will be noticed and sent home.

The ultimate SL trash and I am unintentionally guilty.

ROFL Keep the faith, sister, it will be returned one day... if the gods of SL want it so.

So send a few duplicates up with sensors. Only do it better this time: have them report in and give them a kill switch. If the offensive object moves physically, give them the means to cage it and report its position. And shape them like paper airplanes while you're at it. :)
