I have a club with with stairs to a changing area and office. I would like to be able to detect someone who is not a member of the employees group stepping onto the stage and issue a warning that if they stay they will be ejected in, say, 10 seconds. Further to this, if they set foot beyond a certain point. backstage and the stairs, I would like them to be automatically ejected (or just moved to a set offstage point ideally - then I can decide if they are just a confused newbie or whatever...)
I'm really asking if there is an existing script, a variation maybe of the parcel security script, or if someone would write a script for me for payment?
Thanks

Cat x There are security systems that do that now, but if you want something that has more specific controls, such as limiting a rectangular area to people in a specific group, rather than adding users one by one, I can write you something. Cost would depend on whether you want the code or not, and how userfriendly you want it to be.

Yes - I need it to protect a rectangular area (limited to members of a group) Yes - I would want the code Sort of - a few 'Rem's maybe, the well structured script type of user friendly is all I need Thinking about it - just a rectangular area with a timed eject or tp to a set location, I would need to be able to set the eject time and tp location - but as long as I can do it in the script that's fine, I don't need any kind of interface. And if I'm there I will just send mischief makers into orbit anyway Thanks Cat x

I've got a couple of different variations of 'area protection' script that I sell around to people for their various needs...
First things first: You cannot 'force teleport' someone to a specific place. You get 2 options:
a) Eject them from the parcel
b) Send them to their "Home" location
Depending on the type of security you need, each has its advantages/disadvantages. In your case, I would imagine that sending an avatar home would not be good...as you want them to remain in your club. Therefore, I would go with an eject-from-parcel option.

I can write you an security app that will gently push back anyone who tries to enter the rectangular area and isn't a member of a particular group. After repeated pushes and warnings, the app will teleport the agent home.
You will have the code as well.

I have a security orb that does the standard eject/tp home on a parcel that you own, but I also wrote a push variant of it for a friend who rents, feel free to ask in world if you need help.
Mine runs by notecard lists not group, but those sorts of changes are pretty trivial to make.

Be sure that your banned area is where you drop people off in all searches and links. It seems to be the standard practice, anyway.

I was just teasing Chaz, because I laugh my ass off every time I go somewhere from search, or teleport to someone's link to their alleged product, and their obsolete link takes me straight to a nasty security orb. This happens all the time! You'd think throwing your money at people would be easier. P.S. No offense to Cat -- his/her use for the orb seems legit.

Remember to give fair warning before booting folks, SL is too much a minefeild as it is. Or use the land tools, they may be ugly but they're at least gentle.

Jill - Yes, although it is an obviously private area that they shouldn't be in - I am always gentle with newbies and there will be a warning to leave the area first - I hate those parcel eject scripts that give you about 2 seconds before they send you into orbit if you accidentally fly over their house - pathetic! Avion - the number of times I have TPed to a parcel advertised as being for sale only to be told I have 'n' seconds to leave before being disintegrated (or whatever ) Yes, my intended use is totally legitimate, it's to keep idiots off my stage and out of my changing rooms. I don't run a sex club and certainly not a 'free sex' place... My club is all about interaction and dialog between staff and clubbers to make a pleasant time for all - ok it may result in some flesh coloured vector graphics but you better not think your AV can touch any of them! Kenn - the TP idea was to send someone from the 'forbidden' area to near the entrance of the club - more gentle than the eject option - but if it can't be done... - In the six months we have been open I have ejected a couple of people and banned a couple - in all cases they were seriously unpleasant characters. One shouldn't react too quickly, we had an enormous blue robot stumble into the club one night and although I did have my finger poised on the eject button at one stage - he actually was a great guy who WON the Best in Blue event (voted for by other clubbers) and is now a regular - not always as a giant robot, sometimes a dalek or a dragon or a skeleton or... well you get the idea, we really do have the wierdest bunch of clubbers... and staff... Anyway, Jotheph is doing the scripting for me so thanks to him and all you other nice people for your comments. If you would like to see our little club (just rebuilt by me as the Parthenon) and maybe have a go at getting on our stage (hee hee) then come to: Masquerade @ Kokiri 170, 130, 26 - IM me in world for our latest events schedule Cat x
