Does anyone know of an online source for this? I'm not even talking about writing here I'm talking about simply modifying a script so that it works for something else. Case in point, a door script (to open and close) modified to make an airplane cockpit open and close. Is there such a thing?

3. The University of Second Life, Phobos (111, 170)
Has a great collection of free example scripts and libraries.

Thanks Molecular but I took one look and ran screaming. I haven't written a program for a computer in a VERY long time. When I did, it was a TRS-80 with a whopping 16k of memory... I'm just looking for a bit of help. For example I built my first plane. Now to get the canopy to open I selected individual and added a sliding script I found or bought someplace (can't remember which) into it. When it's alone it works fine, slides back and forth like a dream. "Great" I think "that's just what I wanted"! Then I link the canopy to the rest of the plane and step back to give it a try. Imagine my dissapointment (echoes of words my 4 year old should NEVER hear) when I click the canopy and it drops into the floor of the plane. I need help... and a stiff drink...
