Is there a way to turn off the object name and description that shows when you point to a scripted object? I've made a game board, and the description that hovers around the mouse pointer is distracting and also obscures the board for several seconds.
Sorry if this has been answered already. A search for "hide description" turns up only unrelated hits.

Turn off hovertips. That's in View, as far as I recall.

A search for "hide description" turns up only unrelated hits. I'm not sure, but I think that when an individual disables hover tips in the View menu, it disables ALL mouseovers. I always leave mine on and I encourage visitors to my area to enable theirs. I detest floating text, so I tend to use an object's description for "click here for more information" notes. I don't think there's away to force someone else's mouseover to ON/OFF, or to script an object to hide/show it.

Thanks, that's what I was after -- removing the hovertip for everyone, not just myself. I sort of suspected it was impossible. I think that would be a nice option to have though, there are lots of instances where it interferes with game play.

From: Osprey Therian ==== No one can decide on my settings except me. I wouldn't presume. I only want to hide the hovertip on one particular object. The game board is fairly small, and the hovertip obscures a lot of it, which prevents the user from taking their turn until the tip goes away. That's a delay of several seconds, and causes some frustration.

make the game board bigger? use an overlay prim with the new detected functions (so they at least have a little control over where the tip shows up)? just some ideas to get ya thinking...
