I was wondering..

Hi all.. i have a question.. I bought a sculptie organazier thing that you put ur sculpt maps in and textures, press a button and there u have it! it's a great tool.. thanks for all the people who made this thing happen.. but i do wonder.. can someone copy and send these items using those scripts without me knowing?? i know it might be a silly question to some of you but i am not into scripting so i am not really sure what is possible and what is not.. and don't get me wrong or get offended as it is my right to protect my belongings and the creations of others

maybe, depends on if they have copy and transfer permissions on the specific item. if the sculpt map has both, yes it's possible. if it has just transfer, you'd know, because it's no longer there.

however if someone selling this organizer commercially did this, they'd be get drowned in inventory offers by each person that bought it.

Hello and thanks for the reply.. is it possible to copy my maps without notifying me!? o_O that would be nasty! of course they wouldn't have copy and transfer perms but the fact that a script can copy and transfer my items without notifying me is a bit creepy..
i do have high hopes though.. cuz as you said.. their inventory would be flooded.. ;PP so that alone would be a good reason for them not to do that..

if you have full perms of the maps, the script can read the UUID of it and send it to whoever just as easily as it could send it as a texture. and yes it can be done without notifying you. the only thing i can say is buy carefully, and if you buy thru xstreet, read the reviews and discussions and pay attention to the ratings. otherwise try to create your own.

implementing sculpt to it would be fairly easy if you know how to script. i have a working one in world, but i need to tweak it some more

Hey Ruthven. thanks for the reply.. well i read the reviews.. were all good (since it's almost free!) but saying what you've just said makes me doubt there's something behind the very low price! i mean i have searched for sculpt organizers and 1L$ is toooooo cheap! i think i am not using it anymore i am confused about it..

i doubt they would do anything, just saying it's possible. because just the same as being flooded with inventory offers, they would get flooded with messages. is the script mod? if so that all you have to do is look into it and see if it does any of that. besides, if they were stealing maps, what would they do with them?

they couldn't sell the maps because the original creator would probably notice them and see they are the same. and if they are selling objects made with them, eventually the original creator might notice it contains sculpties they made. and i know alot of sculpty makers keep track of who buys their sculpties so that can look back and see if the item seller bought the maps to make sure they're not being resold or given away as freebies
