How is this a timer question? Or a scripting one for that matter?
Anyway, right click the sword, choose edit. Rotate and translate it so it's at the right orientation and in the right place. _____________________

ya im sorry i just started second life, and im an old visual basics programmer so C style is kinda alien to me. I tried placing the object in the "real" world and rotating it and re-equiping it, it still goes out my hand at an right angle from my hand (threw the top of my hand out)

"new timer" - cute. Unfortunately, there are timers in LSL, so there will be confusion.
While wearing your sword, edit it. Move it around 'till it's attached to your hand the way you want it to be. No LSL required. _____________________

Attachment default placement

how do i set default placmentsm like if i wanted to make a left hands one and right hand one You dont nessisarily have to make two, one for the left and one for the right. I've found this script very helpful - /15/58/145509/1.html. It saves the position of an attachement, for each attachment point you use. So you can attach the sword to your right hand, rotate and move it till it looks correct. Then attach it to your left hand, move it around, etc. When you put it back in your right hand, it will "remember" it's placement. Mr Blackthorne |

Normal way is to make a left and right sword. They remember their placement, rotation and all, if you just choose wear from the right click menu.
There is, if you search around, something that remembers positioning for various attachment points, a script that is. It was published in the library recently, so searching through there is a good bet. _____________________

thx for the placement, one last quest about this item, when he stands still the swards point out, but when we walks is "swishes" about usely crossing into each other, is ther a tutuoral about restricting arm movemovent when the avator is in diff modes (walkig, talking, fly etc, )so i can put the items at the correct angles during these fuctions?

Um no, sorry.
There's not any way to really predict where an attachment is relative to you, nor even where your hands are relative to your body... there are quite a few stand poses that put fists *in* hips rather than *on* hips if you're tall. If you add the variety of stand poses, walk poses, changes with shoes etc. that are out there, whilst it might be nice, it would be a minefield. Most people that provide swords include animations with them to override the stands, walks etc. I think, or the users just accept it. You can tweak the positioning a bit to try and avoid the worst of the troubles too I guess, but I don't know that there's a solid single solution. _____________________
